Exhaust Setup options

Exhaust Setup options
Hey guys,
First I would like to apologize for starting a thread like this since it has been talked about so much, but I have a more detailed question I would really like to know.
My son has basically gotten through a very long battle with cancer and his grandfather bought him a 1997 3.4L Tacoma. I want to get him something he will love and the one thing he loves is really deep sounding exhaust. Since its a 3.4L I'm sure its picky subject on what setup gives the deepest tone. I've decided to go with the Vortex Cherry Bomb muffler. My question is, what would be the best piping/exhaust tip setup for that? I have found a sound clip on what I want it exactly to sound like on Corey's exhaust page (link is below for quick reference). The user "vegasboy" under the vortex section is the one I want. I have tried to get up with him but by the looks of it, he hasn't been on in ages here and I have gotten no reply. If anyone knew what setup he had or any idea or advice, I greatly appericate your time and effort. This is something my son with love and I really want to make him happy.

Thank you all,

Welcome to YT. Theres no one answer for your question. Sound really comes down to personal preference.
My opinion is just get a good muffler (magnaflow, flowmaster, etc.) and forget about tip.

1) Sounds Badass (Loud under a load, but quiet cruising
2)) Its good bang for the buck ($200.00 shipped)
3) Easy as hell to install (took only 1 hour)

Thank you all for your help and advice, I'm now opening my options up and looking more toward the Jardine now and I'll post back once I have a decision. Thank you so much!

are you in North Carolina? If so, where? I am in Chapel Hill and have a vortex muffle on my 4Runner, so if you're close, I would come by so you can hear it in person

I got the Vortex (from burman industries) and just used the stock pipe and left the tip as is. I got it installed for around $40. I couldn't be happier. I got it cheaper including shipping than the guy was offering me for the magna flow from his shop. He said I might not like a cherry bomb muffler but he said he hadn't heard the Vortex before. After the install all the shop guys were surprised and he said that it sounds "just like" the magnaflow he was pushing on me. The link below has a link to a video w/audio of the vortex muffler.

If you want deep tone I'd have to say flowmaster...
I loved my Dynomax I had on my 98 too... Cost about $140 installed with tip. Can't beat that price point. Unless you plan on Supercharging or if the piping needs to be replaced anyway I wouldn't bother replacing the stock piping.
