I have a 01 4 dr Taco with about 110K on it. My exhaust seems to be fairly sound, but with the mileage I figure I am living on borrowed time, at least as far as the muffler is concerned.

I am looking for a good combination of mileage and performance (aren't we all) and am considering just doing headers and everything. I wouldn't mind a more throaty sound, but loud is not something that would fly very well around where I live. We are opening a LINE-X in the next month, so the truck will be used for work as well.

Any suggestions?

 

Your exhaust will last a very long time, I wouldn't worry about it dying on you...

Now if you want better sound, that's a different story

 

headers are a pita and gains are very minimal unless your s/c i have 143k miles on my stock pipes and all i did was replace the muffler for a 18'' magnaflow muffler and a 3''tip sounds awesome
