Eton M90 SuperCharger

How hard would it be to modify the Eton M90 Supercharger to the 3.4 V6 engine. Also what other Superchargers would work on the V6.

I think a centrifical type might work best if you are looking to modify one for install

A centrifugal is the easier and cheaper route to go if you are looking for more boost.
An M90 blower requires a lot of machining time to create a plate that will allow it to bolt to the intake manifold and also allow the throttle body and intake to bolt up. There are also precise measurements involved to make sure the blower is lined up on the deck on also that it will clear the hood. The nose drive has to be positioned so that the belts are all lined up.
Something like a centrifugal ATI ProCharger only requires a bracket to bolt to. Also, a centrifugal compressor can utilize a air-to-air intercooler whereas a roots-type M90 would probably use an air-to-water type intercooler.
Check out F2unings website. There are two 3rd gen 4Runners that have been modified. The first is a twin turbo. The second is a ATI charged. http://www.f2uning.com/pages/10/index.htm

HEAVY modding

To install an Eaton M90, you would have to do HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY modding. It's a roots type S/C like the TRD one so it would bolt to your engine, but it is not pre-shaped to fit your engine like the TRD one is. You would have to fabricate the S/C and the port connections to have it bolted on. It is possible, but it would take forever and would definately not be worth it. A much easier alternative would be to use a centrifugal type S/C. They can be applied to most engines with the right mounting plates, belts, and piping. It would still take heavy modding, but not nearly as much as the Eaton M90 would.

Ok then what would I need/modify just to install a Pro Charger or a ATI supercharger with a 3/4 core intercooler. Also, what model supercharger would I need from both companys. My goal is to have at least reliable 300+hp from either S/C.

If you install and intercooler and a some serious fuel mods you could definately get your wish (300+ HP).

an ati procharger is a brand of centrifugal supercharger(like paxton and vortech). they have dyno proven to make the most horsepower. gadget worked on that truck with one linked above, im sure he could tell us all about it.

please?

If I had the money, I would go the Twin-Turbo route...Ceramic Turbos (set at 12-15lbs. of boost), Air to Air Intercooler, Vortec "Ice Box" aftercooler, Tundra V8 Fuel Injectors (fit ?), high volume fuel pump. TRD Headers and dual exhaust.

This setup could get you into the 400-425hp range if you combined it with a stock intake and exhaust manifold extrude hone.

Cost would be MUCH less than the supercharger AND, you'll get better low-end response (aka: ass twistin', all 4 tires smokin', pin you in the seat takeoffs). If you do it...Definitely post your progress.

Turbos are too much of a hassel and not reliable like a S/C. Plus there is too much tuning involved with a turbo set up.

A twin turbo setup is a huge expense because of all the custom work that needs to be done to get it installed and running (including a custom intake and exhaust)....I don't think it will be any cheaper than a supercharger.....in fact it may be more.....you got the tire smokin part right tho...

I would go the cheap route and just get the TRD S/C made for that engine.
If that won't do it for ya, trade in the truck for the V8 version.
If that fails....S/C the V8 too!

All this money you want to spend on upgrades would have been better spent on a supercharged V8 in your Tundra. Just my take on it

So look for a wrecked one and pull the motor.
Otherwise just go with the TRD S/C for your motor.
