engines

i was wondering, what can i use for a direct replacment for my 22re, i mean im looking to go bigger. I was thinking of different toyota motors like, 3.0 v6, or maybe a tacoma engine. But i was thinking of somthing like a supra motor. I like the idea of running a turbo truck. Im open to all sorts of opions too.

Try a search here. I remember seeing something on this at one of the links but I can't find it right now. I saw kits for all engine types for your rig!

The problem with the supra motor is that You will have to make your own mounts. Along with that have to use a different tranny and rear end. Doing this will cost alot of money... But hey if you got the knowledge and the money more power to you I'd like to see it.

you could look at like 3.4L taco v6. or a smaller chevy engine. put a 350 in it!! if it'd fit...

Have you considered a 22re turbo? Jeff Moskovitz has a pretty sweet 22ret setup....http://www.well.com/~mosk

LC Engineering SC

I just got the new Four Wheeler. They have a section on Toyota goodies. They had a SC kit listed for the 22r from LC Engineering. It had a weber carb with it I think. There isn't anything on their website about it yet.

IMHO putting a Chevy motor in a Toyota is like putting Ketchup on Chineese food . The only thing i'd consider if I were you are the 3.4 V6 5vze motor or the 2.7 I4 2rze Or whatever its called.

How did you manage to kill a 22RE? That's the most reliable motor ever with the exception of its carburated brother the 22R. They aren't very powerful but they will always get you there at the posted speed limits unless you are towing or have the wrong gear ratios in your differentials.
