Which engine for my 3slow, 3.4 or Supra

I need to know which swap I should do, 3.4 5v-zfe out of a newer Runner or 7m-gte out of a Supra. I keep going back and forth on which is best and it's getting close to go time. I need some opinions about the pros and cons of each so I can get started.

My ride is a 95 Runner, automatic with a crapped out 3slow

Thanks

Anyone know the stock HP of the 5V-zfe and the 7m-ge (non turbo)?

A 4Runner with the 3.4l (5V-zfe) comes with 183 hp from the factory. I don't know about the Supra engine.

I'd recommend the 3.4 swap, it'd be much easier, and less custom fabbing of parts. Plus, in most states, to be legal, you must install the same or newer year engine in the car, and there weren't many 7M-GTE's made after '92.

With the 3.4 swap, it'll be a pretty much bolt in affair, but not sure about your automatic, most I've read about were 5 speeds.

You'll need to install at least a one inch body lift for engine clearance.

The exhaust will be pretty much custom after the manifolds, and I don't think the ECU wiring would be all that bad, but a harness to help with the swap is available.

An extended version of this should be made as an FAQ/Sticky for all to read.

Yeah, I'm thinking it's going to be the 3.4. I already have a 1'' body lift, a possible source for the engine, it will fit better and let me keep my flex-a-lite puller fan, easier to do. Dose anyone know if the 3.4 can be turboed? I know there is a TRD Supercharger for it, but that's going to be too expensive. I may be mistaken but it seems like you can addapt most any turbo to work with any engine, seems like the possibilites there would be lest costly.

If you want more horepower (and torque) on a low budget, get a 7M-GTE.
Some minor mods and you are good for 275-285 hp with all the OEM stuff.
I'm replacing my 7M-GE in a few weeks with a 7M-GTE (which i allready have) and soon after, all the mods for some 300 hp.
