Emergency handling
Well I got to test out the emergency handling of my new 2003 SR5.
Some jacka$$ decided to turn across my lane right in front of me. I started to lock up the brakes and realized that if I did that I was definitely going to T-bone him. Instead I floored the accelerator, turned hard right for the sidewalk, jumped the 6-8 inch curb, rode the half the sidewalk for about 20 feet and jumped back on the rode with no harm done. Dont know how I thought that quick, but it seemed like slow motion.
I love this vehicle.
My old Cavalier would have been toast.

I had a VERY similar scenario. Some old fart too short to see over the steering wheel, or the common sense to know better decided to make a left hand turn into a gas station. I was behind her in my 2nd gen. (the road is a 2 lane road.) She turns, when her rear end is the hell out of my way I stomp it to continue on. By some act of absolute and sheer insanity, she decides she's made a wrong turn so guns it and tries to come back over into my lane!!!!
Basically she was coming in at a 30degree oblique to my drivers side! I had to floor it, dive for the ditch, and then got out of the ditch when she locked up.... ˟˟˟˟˟ing old a$$ idiots shouldn't even HAVE licenses.....
Idiots like her are why my truck has been in 2 wrecks from old fogies not knowing what stop lights are...

hey guys, remember...we don't like the 4th gens. you know, "ugly" and all.
aww jk, just trying not to get a little jealous. no that'll hit once all the lifts and accessories are out for the 2003s, there's gonna be some sweet looking rigs then.
