What year trucks & 4Runners came with an electronic speedo (no cable at all), 4wd, AND 22RE engine? Looking for a sender for a programmable speedo.

 

For some reason I want to say that started in 95.5/96 trucks. All the 22RE trucks I have ever seen have cable driven speedos.

 

I think they started in 93 or so.
I remember people having some trouble swaping guage clusters because of that in the 89-95 trucks.

It might have more to do with the tranny type rather than the engine. I have a 93, V6 with auto tranny and I have a gear driven electronic VSS, but I know of a guy on 4x4wire that has a 93, V6, manual tranny that uses a cable.
