electrical help please!!

First off hi to everyone i'm new to this forum. I bought an 86 toyota 4x4 truck,carb...not fuel inj. It had an idle problem The fuel cut off valve wasn't getting voltage,so i checked the fuses and found the ign fuse blown. After replacing the fuse i noticed that the charge light is on but my alt is charging at arround 14.5 volts, also i checked for voltage while running at the choke heater, there is only.7 volts there. As near as i can tell the choke is fed from the alternator. has anyone come accross this problem? If so where do i look to fix it? Thanks in advance,Tom.

Hi, you can use any 12v. source for your fuel cut off solenoid and choke. Just make sure its only on when you are in "Run". Did you check the little computer on the drivers side kick panel to see if it was unplugged? Should be a little green box.

I removed the drivers side kick panel but didn't find a green box.I did find an emission computer on the pass side?
I realy want to find out what happened,so it won't happen when i'm miles from the nearest road. But if i have to i'll just run a hot from the acc. in the fuse block.
How do i get the charge light to function properly now? I know it's charging but if thi light doesn't work properly i could get into some trouble. Thanks,Tom.
