Educate Me Before I go to The Stealer!!
Hey all this site is a great resource. Ok I will admit it I went to Jiffy Lube a week and a half ago, I was in a hurry (never again). The clowns in there obviously did a crappy job and it was leaking a small amount every night. Come to find out they didn't tighten the drain plug, and to top it off the filter was leaking.
I put a new filter on myself over the weekend (took the skid plates off and did it right). Well what do you know it still is leaking, now I am concerned about Rear main seal. I degreased the whole area and I tried to take a picture of the area with my camera phone but it looks like crap. My best guess is that is coming from the vicinity of the filter (but I have ruled out that my OEM filter is leaking).
Runner is a 98 V6 with 103K. It has been well maintained.

Was it leaking before the oil change? If not, then you got your answer...loose drain plug and/or filter...clean things up like you did, tighten up the drain plug and put on a new OEM filter.
Good luck!

I had a similar problem with mine...when I took off the old filter the gasket stuck to the block instead of comming off with the filter. I was in a hurry, and so I didn't notice it. Two days later I see oil spots on the driveway and think WTF? So I go back under and after looking around I learn that two gaskets don't seal better than one.

I am hopeful that is what happened (double gasket the filter). I felt all around the filter but I will check again. Thanks for the input. Waskilly is right the simplest explanation is usually the right one, I just panic when I see oil in the garage!!!!
