dumb question
i got a body lift today just cause i want some more tire clearance but i wanted to know why do i need to cut and weld the the stick on my manual transmission. i mean wouldnt it be like a short shifter?

and it wouldn't be like a short shifter, if you mean short throw shifter... The throw would be the same, the difference would be the shaft will be 2" shorter. You could use a taller style shift knob or something like the shift lever extenders (screws on where the knob is, then the knob screws onto it,) rather than extending the shaft. On mine the prior owner had installed the 3" BL and extended the shifter 3", but then I added Marlin's short throw shifters so now I need to cut out the 3" cuz it's WAY too tall!
Wait and test drive it and see if you like it, you can always extend it later if you like.
