The kit comes with a longer stainless steel brakeline to replace the stock rubber one. With the body further from the rear axle there is more chance of pulling the stock one tight. I will put the brake line on and bleed the brakes but until then I'll be OK as long as I don't take it off road and test the rear flex.

A couple of updates. I'll take some pics tonight when I get new batteries for the digital cam.

1. I installed the Downey stainless steel brake line. The install went very smoothly. It was quite surprising how tight the fittings need to be to not seep brake fluid but even with a normal open wrench I didn't round any of the fittings.

2. I cranked on my torsion bars today. Actually I only had to crank on my passenger side bar. I had noticed that the truck looked like it was listing to starboard again just like before the Downey install. I measered and got 13.5" on the passenger side and and 14" on the driver's side. So then I measured the front and noticed that the passenger side was 14.5" but the driver's side was 14.75".

It seemed very unusual that my driver's side was suddenly .25" higher than before but I decided to level the passenger side to that level and see what happens. About 10 cranks on the passenger torsion bolt and I was 14 13/16" (14.8"?)on both sides. Slightly above the 14.75" goal I had in mind. Interesting. I then measured the rear and got 13.75" on both sides. Seems like the rear is very dependent on the torsion bar preload to stay level. The truck looks much more level now but I'll drive it another week and see how the torsion bars settle before finalizing everything.

Victor, looks good. Got a question: What type of spring compressor did you use. My local parts store only had 2. One thats fits down the middle, bolt was to long could not get it in the spring. The other comes in 2 parts, one for each side, designed for struts, not coil springs I was told.

I used the strut type. Be very careful in figuring out where to put the compressors on the spring. Once you compress you'll have a ton of thread sticking out one end of the spring so not picking the right place would mean the bolts would hit the body.

You dont need a spring compressor for the install... the springs take a little bit of fandangling to get them in, but its not too hard. I did mine about a month ago. We just jacked/supported truck, then placed a floor jack under one side of the axle and jacked it up a bit for more flex, then had one of us hang onto the opposite side wheel.. they went right in.

I did the same thing and even had someone stand on the brakedrum but still needed the compressor.

I tried that too but could not get the springs to budge. I am going to try to disconnect the sway bar and see if this helps.

I disconnected my sway bar and saw that it helped very little. It did help when I put the jack under one side of the axle to make the other side drop.
