if it bothers you all so much, why not talk to those that make the rules in your state? the motor vehicle law makers are the ones that should be hearing the "waa i cant see, waah waah"
Um, there have been whines about this. It's already illegal to install these nationwide. FMVSS Standard 108.

Sample thread:

Thread Starter: "Hey d00ds I got this new mod installed. Wut do u guyz think?"
Poster #1: "Dude, that is awesome, is that the brand x super-x?"
Thread Starter: "No, I decided to go with. . ."
Poster #2: "I think that's stupid and unsafe"
Thread Starter: "STOP THE HATE BRO "

Come on guys, we're all (mostly) adults here and should be able to deal with people who say "hurtful" (lol, I sound like a social worker) things.

As much as some of us want, You=/=Your Truck. Just cause someone hates on your rig doesn't mean they're making a "personal attack".

I love people that have the "it's his car he can do what he wants" justtification for dumbass modifications.

Thats fine, do whatever you want to your vehicle, but don't expect everyone to pat you on the back for your jackass ricer mods. If you can't take the criticism, THEN DON'T POST YOUR VEHICLE!!!!

I've never posted a pic of my truck because I could care less what absolutely anyone on this website thinks of it. If only people with bone stock vehicles with a few Hella 500s bolted to the stock bumper felt the same. If your vehicle is boring and ordinary, why does anyone want to see a picture of it?

Au contraire, these ricers mods are exactly how to make your ride interesting and unique (rather than boring and ordinary).

You will get the ladies!
You will get a new boost in confidence!
You will become incredibly well-endowed!
Your personality will become interesting and unique. Just like your truck!!!

You have a lot of anger bottled up inside you I can see. Every post you make you just seem like such a prick, what's your deal man? You seem like such a negative person, maybe you should try some anger management classes..? And I'm pretty sure your talking about my 4Runner when you say "ricer mods." It's cool man, with every thread I make showing off a new mod I'm ready to accept any criticism that may come towards my way, wether it may be positive or negative all is welcome.

well , I think I came here to learn about toyotas ( 4runners ) and I am doing so , thanks to guys like toytech76 , he provides good advice . I read all the time any post that I found interesting , so if I ever find something that could be consider dangerous I will "coment on it " and that would be the end . If you want to endanger someone I am pretty sure some cop trying to make " budget " will cash on you , or some mad guy victim of your unsafe behavior will . Any ways life greatest philosophycal remark is : live and let others live by their own ways. I'm pretty sure someone will say someting about my coment , critics are welcome thats how we learn , just dont be harsh about it nobody likes that , and I meant nobody.

Exactly, there are so many distractions and different things on the road that temporarily blind us. So why all the crying and complaining about HID's.. jesus people.. suck it up. Usually it's only a few seconds and the vehicle will pass you and the blinding is over! Life is normal again! There are a lot of other things I'm more worried about on the road than bright headlights. Like drunk drivers for example. I want police to concentrate on the more serious dangers on the road and get the real crime off the streets. I just don't see bright headlights as a serious crime, unless you can show me a news article where someone was blinded so badly that it caused them wreck and a fatality occured.

I realize that everyone has a different take on what a good looking 4runner should look like. I appreciate the time and effort that is put into many of these rigs on the forum. There are a few that will take any opportunity to be a jerk and flame a member over mods. There are many of us that will give constructive criticism when needed. I cant show you an article where a person wrecked and caused a fatality... but i will say that there are many out there that are very light sensitive and the "bright lights" effect us. Nothing sucks more than passing a truck or car with these lights and seeing spots for a few minutes afterwards. It is one thing to have Hellas or what ever (they can be turned off) These HID's cant be... if you know you are blinding people when you pass them then why have them? You are correct in saying there are many other things we should worry about when we are driving... i shouldn't have to worry about some one with blinding lights. I am not trying to be a jerk... again i appreciate the time and money put into mods but i cant see why you are so dead set on justifying this one.

well i havent cared and still dont. i enjoy the "your lights are crappy" posts. guess what i can see. in a state that apparently dosent believe in road reflectors or even keeping up on painting the road stripes. if nothing else if people can see my lights they can see me. Maybe the lousy drivers that flood the streets will pay attention and stay away from me. Built in Utard deterent DOUBLE BONUS!!!
