My car is a 2004 Acura TL. It has HID's stock and I did have them aimed at a good shop since I felt they were uneven also. But I when I drive my 4runner and the wife drives the TL, I just see a whiter, clearer light from the TL.
I don't see it blinding me anymore than the SUV's with the Halogens and driving lights on in the city.
Aiming HID's is a big issue that many don't follow up on. So I agree, poorly aimed HID's are a safety issue.
And I've had yard debris jump out of an old Ford truck and hit my 4runner also since the guys didn't even have a tarp covering their load.
Everyone on here makes a good point. My 2 cents is over......

Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm trying to find out how bright a head light I can run on stock wiring and how large a tire I can run with no lift.

I'm looking for a single thread on the two topics.

Well genX the simple fact is that the stock wiring really is'int big enough for even the stock headlights to work to their full potential so really you are'nt going to be able to go any much brighter. That being said I ran 80W/100W Halogens in my 87 with no troubles at all even though I was getting no where near that output in real terms due to the restrictive stock wiring.

as for the wheels I know you can go to 31/10.5s since that is what was stock on the v6. You could probably go to a 33/10.5 ormaybe 33/11.5 before you run into rub issues but there are other members with a much better idea on that subject try a search on tire size or the like.

Never thought I would say it, But I spend more time on Pirate than Yotatech now, Mainly due to the none stop Drama that goes on here. Its getting worse than a soap opera "As the Yota Turns"

Suck one! The only thing illegal about my truck are the loaded guns inside. I'd like to take a ballbat to some of those HID lights next time they're behind me at a stop light.

 

you know you can have guns in your vehivle right? ant technically "loaded" means one under the firing pin. so you can have just about whatever you want (besides FA, illegal guns) ready to go with the work of the action.. i keep a pistol grip .410 loaded with 3 inch Super X all i have to do is close the break breech and it ready to go... still legal nothing under the firing pins.

True. Pirate does have a bit of drama, But usually only with Newbs and stupid Posts. and its easy to read past the flaming, and get to the tech.
Here theres pages and pages of drama and little tech.

YotaTech is by far the friendlier site, and a great bunch of folks on here, But finding the relevant tech threw all the chit chat is time consuming.

What i dont get is people ask a question about how something looks or what do you think about this and negative response is given, they cry about it. If you cant take criticism then dont ask.

 

I think perhaps it is not so much the criticism but the way in which it is offerred. The positive responces seem to be on the order of "cool", "sweet", or "how can I do that?" however some of the negative reponces can become more generalised rants against the mod in question rather then a simple "that looks like ass", "I don't like it", or "what where you thinking?!" lol

Vigourous debate is always welcome but sometimes as a previous poster mentioned it can get in the way of the tech. A mod may not be to your taste or you may question the legality of it but IMO it would be better to start a new thread or search for and re-ignite an old one and debate the relative merits of the mod there. You can post a link in the "mod thread" to take interested members to the "debate thread" and share your thoughts and feelings there that way everything might flow more smoothly for everyone.
