Angry It doesn't pay to be ignorant

Crawled under my Runner for the first time today (after a month of ownership). Realized that skid plate (sport edition) was covered with white plastic film (which dealership should've removed). I took it off and it looks a whole lot better now (DUH).
Here's the big one..
I checked tire pressure on all wheels. It ranged from 46psi to 50psi
Manual says to run 32psi both front and rear. No wonder my truck felt so rough over every little bump!! I couldn't figure out how anyone would want to put firmer springs/shocks on it (most people do, on this board).
I aired all tires down to 35psi (hoping to get slightly better mileage than with 32) and needless to say, it rode a hell of a lot smoother on the way to work this morning

Funny about those little details, huh?

Sounds like you need a creeper and some ramps, so you can spend some real quality time with your runner!

Yep... those little things can make or break those cross-town commutes. Glad to know you're riding better now.

I check mine about every three weeks.

Yesterday when I switched to my winter tires, I put 35 psi in them.
They are 31x10.5x15.

I keep that pressure in my other set also

Same thing happened to me. I got a corolla brand new from the dealer a year ago and I just checked the pressure a couple weeks ago.

One was near 50 and the others were about 27.

Link worked for me.

Nice looking truck...I like that blue!

In my experience, the two biggest factors to extend tire wear are: proper inflation and regular rotation. On down the line is alignment and shocks and don't forget driving habits!!!

Good luck with the new truck

yeah i have that too, and i've noticed the white film too, i just haven't gotten around to peeling it off. it's actually gotten a little scratched up already from hitting it a couple tims off road, so it'll come off in pieces maybe. do you have any pictures of it filmless? i'd like to see that

I had the same issue. I bought my runner in october of last year and I barely figured it out a few months ago. The film was looking kind of cheap because it looked like it was peeling away. I went under there and peeled the film off, now it looks 100% better.
