hey guys,

Apparently, the diff lock ECU for a taco has part # 89533-35060
the part # for a 4runner is 89533-35070

Can these be used interchangeably? I cant possibly see a difference between the two.

I found a thread on this doing a search, but the link to the info is no longer available.

Are you trying to replace/ fix a broken ECU?

Probably easier to buy a new controller from 12V Guy and call it a day. Will also let you turn the locker on and off whenever you want.

 

I am replacing the switch and ECU in my 98 4runner with a switch/ECU from a 00' 4runner. The original was sold to a friend around 4 years ago (stupid on my part)

 

Indeed. Do you already have the new ECU?

I'd say that if it plugs in to the harness it will work.

i was just confused, because a goodle search showed 35070 for the 4runner ecu and 35060 for the taco ecu.

is it located under the carpet? In my 4runner I can find the green box (35090), but not the slot to where the diff lock ecu would fit.

 

I have no idea man. You don't remember pulling out the original one?
