I have an '86 yota 4x4 22re. My check engine light is on and i cant find the $%^$ing connector under the hood. My manual says that it should be located near the ignition coil but it is nowhere to be found. On my '88 4runner it is located by the fuse box, right where it is supposed to be. I am pulling out hair. ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR ME?

Did you look to see on the driver's fender? There is two round plugs that look connected into the fender with rubber boots. On my truck the smaller of the two was the diagnostic connector. Hope that helps. You nmay have already been there....
