Deckplate Mod?

I have a 3vz-e and was thinking about doing that mod. I read the write up and was just wondering what was everybodys opinion. I was wondering if this caused any problems with anything. I would rather do this than buy the FIPK Im not concerned about it getting wet. I would just like to know what everybody thought was better.

The deck plate mod can not be done on the 3.0 V6, it is for the 3.4 V6.

You have two other choices to allow your airbox to breathe better.
1. Intake Silencer mod
which is in the Tech section

2. Drill holes into your airbox which is also in the Tech section.

The second mod was what I meant. I was wondering if it was pretty safe to do.

The concern is water intrusion. You can't seal it up like you can with the deckplate. If you're not OR'ing, then by all means. ANY HP gain for the 3.sl0w is worth going after.
