Question dash Brake light

I have done a search and not found anything relevent to my problem. I have also checked the brake fluid level and it's good, so I know its not that.

The brake light has come on, the one in the dash under the speedo and tach. Not very bright but enough that i can see that it is illuminated. The ABS light has not come on, nor the charge light. What should i look to next? Will the rear brakes send a signal if they are getting to the end of their life? Has anyone had this problem? And if so what should I look for next.

Any help is appreciated
Thanks
Steve

Try unplugging the brake reservoir sensor and e-brake switch one at a time to rule those out. Also just in case your charge light is not working you can check the voltage at the battery, should be around 12 with the engine off and around 14 or so with it running.
