I have an ExtremeAire compressor mounted to the body of my 04 4Runner on top of the front right wheel well. It works great and will fit no place else, but causes an awful vibration and quite a loud sound. I am looking for some way to get rid of/ limit the vibration without moving the compressor to a non-existent other location. I assume I will have to put some kind of material between the compressor and the body, but I don't know what to use.

Does anyone know how I can get rid of my passenger seat vibrator effect? I doubt that there is a way to dampen the sound without going crazy, but I am open to suggestions.

Thanks for the help. Do you think they would have rubber brushings at home depot or the like?

 

Maybe a "real" hardware store might or find some rubber stoppers/corks or something like that. Or buy a set of polyurethane sway bar end link bushings and upgrade your stock rubber ones and use that.

I ran to my local Lowes and picked up some rubber grommets for my compressor install. I fit the grommets to the holes i drilled in my wheel well for the installation of the compressor and I was set to go. Other than the sound of the compressor itself, everything is nice and quiet.

Cost was about $5 for all the grommets.

Got any old slippers laying around? cut them up, stack them up, drill the holes...done.

 

That's pretty creative, but I am a little lacking in the slipper department. My mother's birthday is coming up, so I could ask her if she would like to make a trade-in on some new ones, though.
