Custom 4Runner Rear Bumper

Got the hitch made and welded in


Plated the frame and added 2"x3"x1/4" to mount to.


Overkill


Put the ends on


Gusseted them






Added side protection.


Done!!!

Sides look a little jenky, but I like the rear. Reminds me of an all-pro with the clean tubes as a top step.

in my personal opinion...i think it would look a LOT better if the sides went all the way even with the fender flare..but that's just me.

Scotty didn't build it, I did.

While I definitely agree it would have looked better, there's a couple of reasons it doesn't go below the flare (I did heavily consider it). The main reason is there is a ton of body movement in the 3rd gens in comparison to previous models and I would have had to bring the tube lower than I wanted to get it under there. Plus I have plans for that area so it is still a work in progress and I'm quite confident it will all work out the way I want it in the end.
Scotty was able to go much further forward with his due to not having flares.

John is my shop manager/fabricator. He built this all himself in his garage.

The design to mine is very similar, but its more of a collective idea between the two of us.
