Crossfire amp---is it worth installing?

Hi guys,

Not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but TOO BAD!!!

I've had this amp for a number of years now (given to me) but never installed it:

Here are the input/outputs on both sides of the amp:

On the top of the amp it says "100w x 4" Mosfet CFA-404S (model #).

So what I'd like to know from you audiophiles is "is this amp worth installing?" Is the quality of this amp enough to justify the time/labor/$$$ spent installing it myself or to have it professionally installed?

I'm not a stereo expert as you can see by my questions so your opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Bob

Well I Cant tell you anything about that particular amp. But what I can tell you is this. If The Amp is indeed functional, it is worth installing. Run high quality wires throughout your truck from speaker to amp, if the amp runs it will improve your sound quality over the stock system by leaps and bounds. And if you decide to change your amp out, you already have the wiring set up, all you need to do is remove that amp and replace it with a diff. one.

Win win situation.

Good point. I think I'll proceed but w/ caution. I am happy w/ the stock system and there are other things I'd like to spend $$$ on. Hopefully the speaker wires/cables won't be too expensive.

if you have someone else install it shouldnt be too much money. there is a place here that will do it for $25 if you buy the equip. there or $40 if they are just installing it... the cost of wires is the same either way. the $40 is not per hour, mind you, but a flat rate. so that's pretty good cause running all those wires is a pain if you ask me. especially getting through the firewall. ugh! but if you want to save yourself $40 get some friends to help you install it and make it fun

The Crossfire Amp is a very high quality very powerful amp.

The Crossfire amp is strong and has clean sound and can be bridged down to 2 ohms for even more power. I used to have the exact same amp running 2 12" Orion Extreme DVC subwoofers. It is more than enough to run your highs and mids and you could even run a sub off 2 channels and your highs and mids off the other 2 channels. For $80 it's a steal. If you don't want it let me know I will buy it for $80 all day. You can't go wrong with these amps. Great sound quality and great power.

You have tested this and are sure it works??

I have seen that happen all to often.

Pull things apart put it all back now nothing works.
