cracked manifold

So after reading through the sticky about cracks in the manifold, I went to look at mine and sure enough, a nice crack all the way across. My 4runner has 150k miles, and no telling how long it has been this way, any ideas on how much damage can be caused by driving it this way into I can get parts shipped? I checked my local salvage yard and they don't have any of the mini headers, the local O'Reilly's has the replacement cast manifold, should I just go this route and it it done?

At this point, any damage would have already been done. A few more days isn't going to hurt it.

Most on here will tell you to get the mini header but do what fits the budget. Dont' wait 3 months to save the money for the mini header, but its a worth while upgrade. I think Deathcougar has it all pieced together for somewhere around $300 (don't quote me though) whereas the replacement cast iron ones are around $100. PM him first though.

Just get it replaced sooner than later for sure.

I saw his post for the upgrade, I wasn't sure how much difference it would make.

Haha, not to be rude but you guys are beating the hell out of this! Lol.

There are like 3-4 posts going on this right now.

The biggest thing you'll notice is a tick, tick, ticking sound coming from the engine bay. Both inside the cabin and outside.

If you guys have a crack, you need to just replace it. Its really not hard. If you are skeptical about the advantage of the mini header then just go OEM. The best you'll get is maybe sound, maybe 1-2 mpg better, and maybe quieter but nothing above that. You guys will see improvement either way since its cracked already and you have a no idea what its like with no crack...

When i bought my 4runner that's the first thing they checked. I bought the Dorman replacement for like $130 and even just visually you can tell it was a little higher quality. All the inside was smoothed out and polished.
