A couple cat questions for ya

im right now running a 2x25 cat back flowmaster 40 series exhaust system on my truck...my question is...if i took off the cat and buy a really nice header would i get that more deeper sound im trying to get...or if i buy a high flow cat would it be much more better sounding than it would be if i don't run a cat at all with the nice header on it?

You don't want to run without a cat. Especially if you live in a state that monitors emissions.

A high-flow cat would help a little. Most of the sound you are looking for will be from the muffler. Also, what engine are you putting this on?

Cat

I am just getting ready to do the same thing but a little different. A friend of mine is making it so I can remove and replace the cat when I need to go for emissions test. He will be putting 2 clamps on either end of the exhaust pipe and I will have a "spare" piece of piping that I can put in after I have passed emissions.
2 Reasons I am doing this. One is because I have a 4cyl and I need all the power I can and #2 is because this way my new cat should last that much longer and I won't have to worry about it when I go for emissions.

if you need all the power you can..just do a engine swap

actually though, isnt it bad to remove the cat since..well, crap, i forgot why, but cant it hurt performance gains? or maybe im just really tired. damn:pat:
