I kinda like how TOYOTA is spelled out on the grille. Is that a custom job or something they did on Japanese models?
Pretty cool if some US 4R did that

Isn't that a Surf? I though the Hilux was the Taco's Japanese counerpart. Either way that thing is huge.

Yeah, that definitely adds an old school touch in my mind. Reminds me of my 72' FJ-40...The lettering and font style is almost identical. If any of you learn more about this, let us know. Thanks.

That's Satoshi's Surf. I've bookmarked that page since I saw it years ago. I love the grille, looks kustom. I'm with fourunnabilly and say that's a Land Cruiser emblem. Looks like he formed a frame and tacked on some mesh...paint it black, attach the TOYOTA emblem...oh yeah, cut out the inner guts of a '98 grille and you have that look. The boys in Japan have a ton of stuff and their Surfs look killer wether it's dropped or lifted. I just may attempt that grille again...was all set to do it and got sidetracked...it's uber kool.

Alot of Japanese vehicles have those, I think they are just an extension of your rear view mirrors, someone was selling those, I think maybe it was Jason B.

Sorry man, I don't know. They make some killer, but expensive rims in Japan. A lot of the 'sport-luxury' sedans are going for the deep dish look. I saw a similar set (chrome rim, black spoked) with tires sitting at a speed shop here. Looked like a Toyota pattern so I asked the guy if those would fit a Runner. They were from a Tundra and the guy was selling them...they were a special order from Japan...over 3K only a month old and were for sale...2K. I wanted them sooo bad.
