Cold Engine Queston.
Being a fireifghter we get calls at all times of the day/nite and weather conditions. Last nite we get a call for 2houses fully involved with ppl inside. So i jump in my cold truck and floor it to the station. One thing i noticed that when the truck was shifting gears the rpms where really high(almost to the redline). The main point to this question is what kind of damage can i do to my engine on days of cold weather.

Well, you can expect an overall increase in wear to components that typically wear out anyway.
But what can you do? Its your job. You might consider stepping up the maitenance intervals on your fluids.

i agree
it can't be good for the engine but in your case you have no choice. change the fluids more often and maby i am wrong, but i would think about a thinner oil (it would coat the parts faster)
anyone correct me if i am wrong. by the way thanks for what you do!:fireman:
