Personsally , I think it's butt ugly.

 

I think it's ugly and it's poorly done. (Both the body parts and the lift...) Begs the question "Why?"

 

indeed...i really like the 1st and 2nd gen trucks...tacos don't look as rugged...

 

It's a Taco front end.

 

I always thought the early 4xToys were great looking...Kind of a Tonka Toy look. Got one located at a farm house right now that's been on blocks for quite a while. Much prefer the 90-94 dash though.

 

i love the old high steel dash with the transfer case instructions...nice touch, reminds me of old military trucks. i'm really preferential to old stuff though

I agree with you on that, it is kind of cool that some one attempted it though. I have seen a lot of posts where people want to try this and this was the first one I’ve seen. I wish I would have bought that 81 with 65,000 miles in garaged shape; I just couldn’t spend $7900 on an 81 base model 4x4 pickup...oh well. The older yotas in my opinion do look a lot better than the new ones, mine is an 88 and is tough, I do like the look of the 89-95 models and their dashes but mine just as much. I think all auto mfgs are building everything to big now. I drive my dads 02 TRD back to back with my 88 and it feels huge to me, then I drive one of the maintenance F250s and realize how well built yotas really are.. Anyway have a good one, Matt

Yeah, you do realize 7900 was more than it cost new? Even in 1985 a shortbed standard cab Standard 4x4 could be bought for $8995 Out The Door?

 

i think my truck was $7999 new, or something along that line. the only options it didn't have are a/c, rear sliding window, and a cassette player
