Check engine light help

My 4runner has been getting terrible gas mileage, jumping at stop lights, idling high and loss of power. I went to Autozone to get the codes and it came up with this. I have a 1997 4runner V6 SR5 2wd with 162,000 miles.

P300: random/multiple cylinder misfire detected-- Misfiring of random cylinders is detected during any particular 200 or 1000 revolutions

P301-306: Misfire in corresponding cylinder. In your case cylinders 2, 4, 5, and 6.

I'm guessing a new set of spark plugs is in order?

Might as well start with new plugs, wires, etc. Could be like the coil packs or whatever the 5VZ-FE has.

I got double, the sticker on the front of the motor--told me too. there was single prong autolites that were wore out that i changed. not sure how much double vs. single matters though.

I had similar problem and changed all spark plugs and wires.
After two weeks problem returned with misfire codes: 300, 303, 305 (dealer said there was 50% cylinder 5 misfire).
They changed all (3) ignition coils and so far no problems with misfires or check engine light...

Read this over, but the high idle points to a vac leak somewhere (unmetered air is getting in after the MAF) Of course you could have more than one problem.

Changed spark plugs and wires and nothing much, ordered a Denso O2 sensor from Amazon.com for $68, putting it on Thursday.
