Coincidence?
Check engine light or the oil light?

knock a vacuum line loose when you refilled or changed the filter?

Best to diagnose the CEL then. It could be entirely unrelated or it could be something that you inadvertantly messed up while changing the oil.

You can't do this in CA but I hear that in most other states you can go to a local Kragen's or Pep Boys or something and they can find out what the trouble code is. That will be your best start.

OR if you happen to like tools and plan on doing a lot of your own work you can get a diagnostic tool for around $200 or a code reader for $50 (rough estimate of prices)

Check your knock sensor, they happen to get knocked loose pretty easy, located right next to the filter, little bit above it and towards the firewall a little more,

i guarntee thats the problem.

If looking at the oil filter thru the pass front wheel well, directly south of the oil filter is the Oil pressure sensor, south/west of the oil filter is the knock sensor location.
