Check Engine light come on after oil change never done it before. help
Check Engine light come on after oil change never done it before. it came on right after i drove up a hill and stays on. the dipstick says it is fine oil wise. what could it be?? it's a 88 4 cylinder 22re 4runner. please reply

Best to diagnose the CEL then. It could be entirely unrelated or it could be something that you inadvertantly messed up while changing the oil.
You can't do this in CA but I hear that in most other states you can go to a local Kragen's or Pep Boys or something and they can find out what the trouble code is. That will be your best start.
OR if you happen to like tools and plan on doing a lot of your own work you can get a diagnostic tool for around $200 or a code reader for $50 (rough estimate of prices)

Check your knock sensor, they happen to get knocked loose pretty easy, located right next to the filter, little bit above it and towards the firewall a little more,

If looking at the oil filter thru the pass front wheel well, directly south of the oil filter is the Oil pressure sensor, south/west of the oil filter is the knock sensor location.
