Center Console Mod

I am planning install a 99-2000 center console mod on my 97 4Runner as soon as I can get all the parts together. I have had trouble finding a complete 99-2000 console, but I have been able to locate the "bezel" or the black plastic piece with the cup holder and etc that sits down in the console. Does anyone know if I can modify my existing center console to accept the 99-2000 bezel piece. I know that the silver plate that the console screws down to has to be moved back and the ebrake has to be offset, and etc. Anyway, does anybody know anything?

I attached a pic of what I am calling a "bezel" if it helps.

Thanks
BWELLS

I would say no but I've seen people do some pretty amazing stuff here. The 99's not here to study vs my 96, but if I remember right the e-brake section is much taller and steeper and the front cup holder section longer and the very front has curves the older style does not.

I personally haven't done that "mod". I'm sure with the right amount of trimming/fitting/bondo you can make anything work.

Here's my cupholder mod

You need ALL 99+ components to make this work, aside from the mounting plate that bolts to the chassis to which the console is attached to via two bolts in the bottom of the armrest storage. There are some slight fitment issues with rear heat, but nothing major.

You're not looking too hard if you can find all the parts; there's dozens of 4Runners on eBay being broken. 5 minutes of searching and emailing a few yards will get you a complete swap setup for under $100 shipped.
