Can I drive 90 miles with radiator cap loose or off ?

Am I wrong about the risk of going dry with the super high BP, though? Is the lack of warning by NOT boiling perceived as a problem at all by the waterless crowd? Do people beef up their temp measurement from the stock dash gauges? I sure would. Thanks. Sorry to hijack a little bit, but it's sort of relevant, too.
I guess we both agree that raising the concentration is a good idea for BBMcF.

I've driven around 50 miles with no cap, thats because i busted my radiator on the trail and it cracked when we fixed it to at least hold water. I had a scan gauge and was watching the temperature like a hawk, and had to fill it up once on the way home. We fixed it that night. Changing the radiator takes like 30 minutes to do.

Why not flatbed the runner to the shop and give the bill to the shop???
I wouldn't do anything else if i were in your position. There is zero upside for you risking YOUR vehicle to get it replaced by SOMEONE ELSE who could really care less about it and if it'll run for another 10 years.
Worst case, take the rad out and mail it to them. 90 miles is no walk in the park (not to mention the gas to get there and back) which is, what, $25?
After they fix it, don't go back there. Their "professional advice" is anything but!

ok
since I do drive by the shop in my other car almost every weekend, I did pick up a
new rad, and just swapped it myself now. was not a big deal.
1) remove plastic grille
2) remove upper rad hose and overflow
3) remove fan shroud
4) drain rad, remove atf lines
5) swap rad
6) install new one.
took 1 hour in my driveway and I was being lazy
I will dump off the old radiator and should be all set
the failure on the old rad was the crimps along the seam at the bottom
didn't seem complete. must have been the machine pressing the part together
just was worn out or needed adjustment, and my rad slipped through
