Buying a 99 Runner
Hi Guys:I am thinking about buying a 99 Runner.I took it for a test drive today and everthing seems to be ok.The vehicle is extra clean with a few minor blemishes. The one thing that concerns me is the wheels seem a bit scratched and pitted. Is this something that can be corrected without getting too expensive? The vehicle has 92000 miles on it so the timing belt needs replacing also.Dealer is looking for $10k.Your thoughts/suggestions?Thanks...Joe

Sounds pretty good. Most will agree that 99's are the year to get. You can always find another set of used wheels on Craigslist, eBay, or even here.
I see you've been a member since 2002..what else do/did you own?

Maybe it was driven on gravel roads. My 97 travels a min. of 10 miles of gravel every day and my wheels are all pitted up. It?s one of those things you can?t avoid if you are on gravel a lot. Depending on how bad they are probably the only thing you could do is replace them with aftermarket wheels
