Buy New Tail Lights?

Hey everyone, this is my first time posting and I need your opinions. I let my friend borrow my tail lights and when he returned them he had smoked them then glossed them over. He was tryin to do me a favor thinking I wanted them like that but I never told him I did lol. Anyway, i have been using them like that for a couple months now but have become tired of them. Should I buy some new tail lights (was thinking the aftermarket replacement ones off of BurtmanIndustries) or should I spend all my free time sanding them down then re-glossing them lol???

Thanks

to keep it clean and simple go with the 01+ style tail lights from jason b http://www.burtmanindustries.com/zoo..._tls_upg_96_98 then you can sell your old ones and make some money back

If you do decide to go back the older style, I have some that'd I'd sell to you for very cheap. But if I were you, go with the 01-02 style lights. I switched to them and like them way better.

There are many other options besides the US market OEM tail lights, there is also the JDM (Japanese domestic market) Toyota stock tail lights. They are completely clear and look WAY KEWL on my silver metallic '98. I got a pair from a guy who was stationed in Japan via eBay and they were very inexpensive (less then $20 with the shipping). I had to buy colored lamps for the stop and turn lights but hey they sure do look sweet! I am going to eventually replace the bulbs with LED ones as well.

Those aren't Toyota stock tails and they never came on a 4Runner in Japan;they're completely aftermarket but popular in Japan but you can find them on ebay for under $100.
