Burnout??? With a 22R?!!!
I just had my clutch replaced a month ago, and today I really had to romp on my truck to get into traffic from a stop.
My truck burned out for a good 3-4 seconds! And I have the wimpy carbureted 22R!
I couldn't believe it. I had it revving at about 3000rpm in anticipation for my opening into traffic. It was a right turn, but a broad one, on dry, regular pavement with no gutter in between. The car went by and I let the clutch out and bam, tires went squeeling. These are new tires too, still have soft rubb on them. I couldn't believe it, I guess my old clutch really was that bad, because I couldn't get the tires to light if I tried with my old one in.
Just thought I'd share my little story.

Your front brakes must be sticking. Either that or there was lots of sand on the road
Unhook the helium balloons from your rear bumper. Get some weight back there, this problem will clear right up!

back when i had an '84 2wd, burning out was something i could do all the time, lots of fun. i can still burn out with stock sized tires on my ancient 20R, takes a good amount of effort though

back when i had my bald 31's on, my truck could lay some mean rubber on the road. with weight in the back and in a straight line it would start to hop after a second or two, though
try this. go find a nice freshly sealed parking lot, the kind that looks real smooth. turn your tires all the way left, and bring the motor to about 3200 rpm. floor then sidestep the clutch. if the surface is right, the truck will throw a complete 180* , smoking the left rear the whole time. if you straighten it out as you whip arround, it will fishtale its way out of the turn. just dont look at the tach when doing this, you may scare yourself. if the surface isnt right, it wont work right.
again this was with bald tires, so i dont know if it will work for you. but it sure is fun!

Closest thing to a burnout I've done on the 'runner was when it had nearly bald tires, floored it at a turn and lost traction. 2nd time, freshly new tires, floored it again and lost traction when the light turned green and beat a Cavalier. As soon as I read UKMYER's post mentioning that its harsh on the clutch, I am never going attempt to do a burnout.

If you have an auto, you don't have a clutch to worry about.

A burnout is not going to hurt anything every now and then. Look at it this way, if your tires are burning, your clutch probably is not.
We want pics next time! I dont care if you were driving.

I'll hop out and get some next time... Actually I don't even have a digicam...
But look back tomorrow cuz I will have some new pics with my truck rust free and sporting the AR-23's.
While I couldn't get pics, I wish I knew what the guy behind me was thinking. Probably "D*** teenagers. Learn to drive!"
