your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to pick components to build this taco up as best you can. Your spending limit is $7,000.

rear 5" springs $4-500
front axle $300
supercharger $2g's
wheels and tires $1500
5.29's $600-700
12 pack $12
A couple weekends and a few friends done under $7000.00

Depends on what you are building it up for.
I take it you are a kayaker, if that is what is in the bed?

If so, you may want to camp at beaches, campgrounds with rivers, and carry your Cobra.
Here is a solution.

Hmmm lets see, you forgot steering, which is another probably 500ish, and the t100 oil pan.

Why the hell would you want to run a 300 dollar axle, most likely a d44, which your gonna have to rebuild it, throw some worthy shafts in it, gear and lock it. Plus you have all the labor on top of that, which you are most likely not gonna be able to do (set up gears), and random material.

3" body lift, cut the fenders.. 38X11X15 boggers, twin turbo'd sbc! lol....

ok for real..

1. $1600- 37X13X15 boggers plus wheels
2. $2000- complete sas
3. $1500- 5:29's and lockers
4. $1800- winch and bumpers

now all you have to do is install it your self!

or pay about 7,000 just in labor!

and thanks to ocdropzone and Corey for those expedition rig ideas, I'm definitely going to look into some of that gear


and as for a 37" and twin turbos - should I also get some neon body lights, some nice chromed out nerf bars and bull bar too?

lol, you did notice the cut fenders and boggers didnt you?
i dont think those neon lights would last to long if it was my truck.. oh, and no need for that chrome, it would be covered in mud anyway.

You can tell where my tastes lie, more of an expedition type build than hardcore offroading.

Depends on your needs. Mine are simple, light/med wheeling, daily driver, famliy hauler, etc. There are some very good recommendations in this thread. I envy the dilema! Heh-heh!

damn 7,000 is quite a budget.

if your into it id do a 5spd swap with a performance clutch.
id beef the IFS with 3" lift coilovers and uniball control arms, also a diff drop and a stronger skid plate.
get some good lifting leaf packs and shackles in the back, and reinforce the frame where it arches up.
get a budbuilt transfer case clocking adapter and then do a flatbelly.
put some rockslides on it and buy front and rear bumpers or at least take off the lower valance on the front bumper.
