brush guard owners!
i put a manik brush guard on my 99 4runner and i notice when i am riding, it shakes probably a little more than it should. i have tightened it down again and it does the same thing. i am just wondering if anyone else noticed this about theirs? is there any way i can fix this? maybe by welding small support plates on the bottom where they bolt on? maybe it is supposed to vibrate like that, but i am not sure.

Do a search and you will see a post that I made a while back about my Manik shaking. I had some brackets made to help mine. Let me know if the old post doesn't give you all the answers that you need.

when i had my waag on, i would notice it vibrate slightly at freeway speeds. i didn't shake up the whole truck or make noise, but i could notice a slight wobble. that's to be expected.
tho i don't know from experience, i'd agree extra support brackets would help.

Sorry about that. I think they were on Montypics.com back then and are no longer supported. I checked and I don't have them on my computer either. Send me an email and I will get some pics of them tomorrow in the daylight and e-mail them to you. I will give you the details on them too. They are stainless steel and I had a local machine shop make them for me. (It was in Mobile, AL) They cured my vibration about 99%. It no longer vibrates at hwy or interstate speeds but of course it still will if I go over rough things fast (pot holes, rail roads, etc), but I guess that's to be expected and I can tolerate that. I just couldn't tolerate the hwy vibrations. I sent Manilk an e-mail about it before I had the new brackets made and they sent me a new design bracket that they had chagned to. But, it didn't help. Oh yeah, I am referring to the brackets that mount up top of the brush guard.

If they don't give you support brackets .. no need to fab some either. A couple of small spot welds will fix it. Thats what I did with mine. before I got rid of thewhole thing for a nice steel bumper. good luck
