brush guard mount

Yesterday while driving home from work I saw this sweet 1st Gen. Since it was around my house I followed him home to find out where he got his bumber made. While we were talking he offered me a free brushguard. He said it was a stock option for the 2nd gen, so I took it home. It is designed to mount on the tow hook mounts, but it is too wide for mine by about 1.75 inches on each side. Does anyone know if this infact was an option at the time the truck was new? If so I might be able to find the mount. Otherwise I will have something made to mount it. will it be safe if I just get a couple of plates made up that mount to the tow hook bolts, but also has another set of holes offset about 1.75 inches. thanks for your help

its possible that you are missing some L- shaped mounting brackets...especially if you got it for free....

Not an option from Toyota. Might have been a dealer-installed thing (aftermarket part.)
