Click on my sig, it'll link you to one of my photo albums, there's a few pictures of it there....

I'll be getting me another set of drive shafts to be modified first before I do the install. Most likely I'll even remove the center console and cut the hole in the body for the extra lever too. That way all I'll need to do is simply take a weekend to do the complete swap.

I originally took a trip out to Marlin's shop to discuss doing my 4-link, but they are quite busy trying to get a few other projects done. While I was there chatting with him, I did one of those impulse buys and whipped out my credit card. Told them to put a complete 4.70 t-case kit together, Dave needed to fit a few items and decided to just assemble the whole box! Even though it would have been quite easy for me to do, I said go ahead. This way I was assured that all the parts were gonna be in there, without any problems.

All I can say about Marlin's shop is they were great to deal with. Marlin even took his whole crew and myself out to lunch.

BTW they didn't even charge me for the assembling it, a christmas present!

I'll have to agree the crawl box will be a nice addition, it will save my clutch from excessive wear.

yeah, marlin and his shop is great.

i took my dual case setup back since i had this weird problem.

turned out a small caged bearing inside broke. something they have never broken before.

they assembled everything with a new output shaft, new adapter plate (old one has some casting problems) and in the end, i essentially got a new setup for the price of new gaskets, fluids, etc. cost...

of course as usualy, while there, i ended up getting way more other junk and other stuff done... LOL......

I just picked up the front and rear driveshafts from a local salvage yard today. Then dropped them off at a driveshaft shop to be lengthened and shortened, I'll get them back tomorrow.
While I was there I noticed a Tacoma with stock manual hubs, so I asked how much? I got them complete spindles, calipers, rotors hubs for $300! They still needed to take them off the truck and I had to get over to the driveshaft shop before they closed, so I'll be going back in the morning to pick them up.

Educate me on this...so stock Taco hubs will work on a 4Runner?

Do you also need Taco Axles?

Yes, You'll need taco axles too, but since I'm running Tundra axles, I'll have to do a hybrid set-up so I really don't need them.

Not a true test yet, just drove it around our jobsite and up a few slopes. This weekend I'll be out at Hammers, unless this dang cold or whatever I caught get worse. I'm feeling pretty lousy at the moment, didn't do much today with my time off.....

What I can say, is I'm glad I got it.......

Bruce,

Did you modify the shifters or did they come from Marlin that way?

And, what's the shift pattern on the front case? Is it just low & high?

I modified the shifters

The crawl box shift pattern is 1:1 - N - 4.7:1
