Bought my first T4R today

I picked up a T4R today, a 98 SR5 with a 5 speed. It has a little surface rust here and there but nothing to bad. It's a two owner truck and I got all the service records for it. It was recently serviced including a new timing belt and clutch. It has 212K on it but the current owner drives over 100 miles round trip to work each day. It runs and drives like new, honestly it's as smooth as my 2004 330xi bmw. Everything world flawlessly and the air blows really cold, I was really surprised at how well everything works on such an old truck lol. The best part is I only paid $2350 for it.

98 is old?

Not for a Toyota it isn't.

But since you refered to it as a T4R, it's probably older than you are. Or not much younger.

LOL I was actually born in 80. It's just older than most of my other cars have been since about 2002. It is in great shape and for the price I couldn't beat it.

No kidding, he bought another car to drive to work and his wife told him he had to sell the 4runner. I don't think they had much money but that was his asking price so I don't feel to bad lol.

Same here. My local Napa or Autozone will also sometimes sell OEM parts (DENSO) if you can't wait for shipping times.

Dealer is last resort but sometimes you have to for hoses and washers, those little things that a store won't have.

You'll love the 4runner man. Mine is a 01 and ive had it since 08 and I wouldn't trade it in. Its still all stock and runs super smooth with 235k miles.

And yes, $2300 is a steal!!! :O

I do love it, it has some rust on the rockers but I am not worried about it. My friends dad owns a body shop and if it won't cost to much i will have it fixed now. If not I can always get it done in the spring. This thing drives like it's brand new.
