Performance Accessories kit is much cheaper (by about $65), but RB is by far more widely used, at least on this board.

Anyone use the Performance kit? Any comments? Does it come with all the extensions, specifically the steering and shifter (auto) extensions?

im installing my PA right now.... its pretty easy, still stuck on the bed though... been doing it just over 3 hours... about an hour left... im going slow and researching beck on the net about what to do.... roger browns site is very informative.... he is also on 4x4wire a lot, and has personally given me advice and tips... i have very limited tools as well, but am getting the job done... just need to tighten down a couple more bed bolts and put the box spacers in on the drivers side.... im welding them myself... and instead of tack, just laying a thick row on one side and around the front and rear edge i can acess.... i figure it will be good enough....

 

if i had the $ i owuld have gone roger brown, but i didnt and also didnt know enough about him at the time... im not saying pa is junk or anyhting, but roger specializes more

after much fiddling, i was still unable to do the steering mod shown on the 4crawler site and also my PA directions... im in the process of talking to Roger Brown right now trying to obtain one of his spacers for my truck..... the rear end is completely done... see above pictures...

 

Yea... gotta use the Taco one. I've been talking with Wild Bill over the last couple of days - he used the Perf kit on his 97 4Runner. Said everything is included... extensions, radiator drop, hardware... everything. He said he needed to buy some longer bolts, but aside from that, the kit was perfect.

 

I've heard some horror stories about the PA kit blocks. Because of the smaller diameter, if you get a good jump or in a wreck, the block can punch through the body. Don't know how often if happens, just a warning.

With the RB kits, the wider blocks can really lessen the chances of that happening. I'd spend the extra few bucks and get the RB kit. I'm going to here soon, I just haven't had the cash.
