i am looking into putting some type of exhaust on my 04' 2.7L, what is going to give me the best sound, be deep, and not sound ricey like a pissed off bumble bee? i heard that flowmaster 40 series would sound good and that just a dynomax muffler would sound good

 

I just had a Flowmaster 40 (along with 2-1/4 inch tubing) put on mine yesterday and I'm very pleased. I was also very concerned about the "pissed off bumble bee" sound. I wanted it to sound suttle and kind of low in tone. It doesn't pull off the V-8 sound like my 5.0 Mustang, but for a 4 cylinder it has a very nice sound. From inside you can't even tell it at idle, then as you get up in the 2000-3000 rpm range you can hear it, and like I said, it's pretty low for a 4. My wife drove it past our driveway yesterday evening so that I could hear it from outside the truck and it sounded really good that way too. Can't comment on the others, but I like the Flowmaster.

 

is the borla exhaust system worht the money or should i just go with a flowmaster 40 series with 2 1/4 piping
