Bent axle 98 4 Runner LTD

I have a 98 4 Runner LTD with a bent axle. I ordered one aftermarket axle. The place where the seal runs was too big on the axle. So, I sent it back and ordered one from a dealer. Same situation. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

what do you mean by "too big"?

Do you have ABS or not, and did you order the axle accordingly?

Bent an axle...Thats one heck of a feat!

The retainer that seals the seal should be correct....Are you sure you have the correct axle,There are 3 differant axles:
Axle shafts, 4-runner, all, w/o 16" wheel, all
Axle shafts, 4-runner, all, w/16" wheel, w/o abs
Axle shafts, 4-runner, all, w/16" wheel, w/abs

If you ordered two axles, both of which were wrong, there is something wrong on your end. Are you sure you ordered axles with ABS? All limited 4Runners have ABS.

All limited 4x4 trucks had 16" wheels, and ABS. It was part of the limited package.

ok Toyota of Dallas thinks they have it figured out. The original part number for the original axel was superceded by a new number, that is what they sent me. But to make it work you have to replace the Backing plate that the bearing presses in to as well as the bearing and seal, all to new part numbers. They are next day airing the other parts to me so tomorrow by 10am I should know if it is all going to work. Wish me luck.
