Automatic Tran. Problem

My 93 4runner won't shift up and will just stay in 1st gear also my speedometer goes up and down while driving. Anyone might know what the problem is? And how much it can cost me? Im not sure if its the speed sensor.

Yup, it's your speed sensor. Do a search for speed sensor and my name and you'll come up with a thread with pics.

It kinda sounds like you're not familiar with the search feature here .

Scroll up to the top and click on "Search" and advanced search. Then type in "robinhood150" in the username area and then "speed sensor VSS" in the key words area.

Then select "4Runners, Trucks & SUVs" in the forum selection area.

Let me know if you still can't find it.

Hmmm... no, that wasn't it. I guess "vss speed sensor" were too many words. I tried VSS and found it.
