Automatic 4runner transmission problem

Hey guys, im new to this forum here and i really need help. I have been a member on ttora for a few years and ive searched the internet for a while without success.

V6 auto tranny started acting up 2 months ago. When i pull up to a stop sign the truck will not downshift to 1st gear on its own. I have to manually shift it in 1st in order to be able to take off again. If i dont do that and just leave it in Drive it will try to take off in 2nd gear which doesnt work because there is not enough power.

I flushed the transmission fluid and put in a new tranny filter but it did not help with my problem.

So when im at a stop and i put it in 1st then back in drive everything works like it should....the truck upshifts normally from 1st gear right up to overdrive...

Help me someone lol.

Any CELs?

Could be a solenoid (#1)that is problematic but is not throwing a code.

I think so, but with different manufacturers using the same transmission, they may be different.

Given they look like a legit store, call the 1 800 # to verify. If the link is not the correct solenoid kit, I'm sure these guys can get you the right one.

Let us know how it turns out....
