ATS Users - ball joint versus uniball

Just wondering if it's worth the extra cash to go with the Uniball upper a-arms -- $380 for the ball joint arms, $640 for the uniball arms. I live in upstate NY, which means lots of snow and salt on the roads during the winter.

How much travel are you wanting? The stock upper ball joint is limiting my travel but I'm also about to the limit of the cv joints anyway. Are you going with special cv's too? I would be worried too about corroision on the bootless uniball.

Nope, no special CVs. Going with the ATS arms mainly so I can clear 33s. Travel? I'll take as much as I can get without having to worry about any "side effects".

I did? I guess I don't really understand the difference betweent the two. I'm pretty much out of my element here, so if someone could give me the a-arms 101 course, I'd appreciate it.

Jackson.
I think Steve's comment pointed more at the fact that you will be using the a-arms in a very corrosive environment. Therefore the additional cost for the un-protected uniball vs protected balljoint is too much. If I understand the uniball setup, you'll get more movement from it, but the entire workings are exposed to the elements. I think the ball-jointed version makes more sense for your application.
