Here's the links:
http://www.central4wd.com/store/itemdetail.asp?ID=4518

http://www.4by4connection.com/4runnertacoma.html
Part # 3414070

It is simply called a "Bull Bar."
The one on Central's site says it's for the pickups, but I beleive it's the same.
You'd have to compare part #'s with them to the othr link I listed.

I have heard from many folk's putting headers on the 3.0 is not worth it.
For one, you almost have to have a 1 to 2" body lift to fit them in there, and they are very hard to put on.
Most custom shops won't even do it with the amount of work involved.

This is why I have not gone with headers.
A good 2.25" cat back setup with a free flowing muffler will give good low torque results.
Even better going with a free flow cat conveter too.

PS, I wish ARB made a rear bumper. They do handle the Kaymar line though frm Australia.
Should be some info on the site.

They are expensive, and I think there are better out there.
Check out the one Eric had made for his 3rd gen.

Angry

Thans for the info on the Bull bar I can't wait to get it. I also want a after market rear bumper with tow rings.
the info on the headers is good though a couple or fast and the furious types tell me it's a no brainer I might just go ahead and do it because it can only make the 3.0 better. I am also gonna install the free flow cat with a cat back exhaust.

I need more hp!!!!!!!!

Wait a minute now...ARB shows this listed on their site. www.arbusa.com/arb_rear step_tow bars.htm in case my attachment doesn't work. My Central4WD in Tacoma quoted me $550.00 for them. I think they are really nice looking.

Are you trying to confuse the new guy (me:confused: ) or something Corey?

Corey,

I've got a 3rd gen (97) V6... Does your comment about headers vs. body lift apply there? that was gonna be one of my next steps!

Sorry to be confused, but I thought *all* you guys were running the edelbrok or TRD headers on yer v6's!!!

Oh boy, 2 Scott's to reply to

Scott #1, I think I have read about those step things from ARB, but I don't know too much about them.
Best to call up ARB of Seattle tomorrow when they open up at 8 am or so.
Jeff @ Badland Bumpers makes a nice tube style bumper that looks similar to the All Pro one.
He can also custom make you one similar to EClaytons.
That is the type I am going for, but without the spare tire.
It will have a Hi_Lift mount on it, and a jerrry can holder so I can get both of them off of the roof.

Scott # 2, from what I hear about headers on the 3.4, it does make a difference.
I hear thre TRD's are the prefered ones. I know a few have the Edelbrock's, but I can't remember who.
I am sure Adam F will remember.

A body lift is not required for 3rd gen headers.

I have stayed away from headers on the 3.0 because everyone I know who has them say there are not worth the $$$ for the little increase in power.
Some did not notice any power.

The 3.0 engine is a quirky one and does not respond to well to engine mods.
About the best thing you can do with them is the cat back exhaust, and lower gears if you have increased your tire size.
4.88s is a hot # to use if you go upto 33" tires. Some go to 5.29 gears to.
Lower gears with the 3.0 makes a huge difference in power.
Corey

After taking a look at BADLANDS BUMPERS website I think i like their bumpers too. I emailed them to see if they could make a rear bumper tire carrier and jerry can holder. I hope they can because I want one

I dropped off my 4runner tonight at import tech (AKA) The fast and the furious guys to replace all my runners coolant, oil, tranny and grease to ROYAL PURPLE synthetic. Has anyone used ROYAL PURPLE these fast and furious guys swear by it
