Well this is the best I can come up with...
I guess they dont make them anymore but I got them brand new like 4 months ago they are MA Audo - MA15D4. This is all the specs I can find on them...
-400 watts RMS
-800 watts Max
-180oz. Single magnet
-Mounting Depth: 7"
-Mounting Diameter: 14.1"
-Copper Wound Voice Coils
-Rubber Sealant Gasket
-Dual 4 Ohm Voice Coils
-Patented Thermo-Cooling Motor Structure
-2" Hi-Temp Kapton Voice Coil Structure
-New Patented Chrome Die-Cast Basket
-Double Stacked Strontium Magnets
-Heavy Duty Non-Pressed Paper Cone
-Platinum Plated Block Terminals
-High Profile Rubber Surround
The one of their newer comparable subs has specs like this...
15" XQ Series Subwoofer...
-Subwoofer Size 15"
-Voice Coil(s) Dual (2 voice coils)
-Impedance (per voice coil) 4 ohms
-Peak Power Handling 900 watts
-RMS Power Handling 450 watts
-Woofer Surround Rubber
-Woofer Composition Paper
-Sealed Box Volume 1.25 - 2.00 cubic feet
-Ported Box Volume 3.25 cubic feet
-Sensitivity 90 dB
-Frequency Response N/A
-Xmax (millimeters) 14 mm
I assume these box volumes would be sufficient for my set? How did you design your box? I've never seen a common chamber box before. I would like to learn more. Did you use a program?

4rx arent your subs underpowered with them being 2,000 rms each with a 2,400 watt amp. also is your amp 2,400 rms? if its peak then the subs are really underpowered. but i bet they pound.

First of all sorry for jacking your thread, if you want me to delete this I will.
Ok well I did some research and this is what I came up with. I found the manual for the subs buried in paper work (ok car parts in the garage) and this is what it says…

I downloaded WinISD (thanks for pointing it out) and entered the parameters of the sub into it. I’m %80 sure I did it right but I don’t know for sure.
The manual says it wants 4.5 cubic feet and 3 four inch ports tuned to 34hz. That’s 4.5 cubes per sub, there’s no way I’m going to build a 9 cubic foot box lol. I looked at their other 15s and this is the only one that wants 4.5 cubes all the others wanted like 2.5 – 3. Do I really need to go that big?
Here are a couple screen shots of WinISD. Really I don’t quite know what I’m looking at, you are welcome to play around with it if you are bored. Lol

don't delete it. well, it look like manufacturer enclosure recommened for the ma 15D4 is dead right. you would have to build between 8-10cubes(10cubes is even better) for your ma audio subs. let me know what you want to do with it. maybe you better stick with the sealed box.. or you want to be crazy, go with ported box lol. i built a small box for my subs due to high parameters Q's in the 0.7's. your subs parameters Q's are low, it like larger box. the tuning freq between 30 to 40hz is the best for daily groundpounders. it ain't good if you tune below 30hz or above 40hz.

Well if yours is six cubes theres no way I'm doing ten. Unless I get really bored one day. I think I should just make a bigger sealed box then. I listen to rock mostly but I turn it to rap/hip-hop at stoplights just to annoy people. lol

So the common chamber you just build it twice the size with no divider and they will be okay? I'm running them on 2 channels I dont know if that makes a difference.

well id love to post pics but i dopped my camera in the river
Anyways, here goes:
-Headunit's a Kenwood KDC-X692
-Rockford Fosgate 2,000watt amp
-2 Eclipse 12's in the back
its not super loud but its perfect for me. saving up for new door speakers soon.

Sweet. Whats the RMS power for that amp? Or the model number?

4runnit, that sucks. is it a rf T2000.1? I've heard good things about rf '08 models amps. bet it hits nicely.
#35
yes, they are seriously underpowered but they still get loud as $#!+. I'm investing for a 4000watts amp and plus upgrade electrical system. peak watts mean nothing. what you want is to look at real specs of the amp. the orion 15h2 rms is 2000watts. I remember rms stand for "recommened manufacturer s...", I can't remember what s stand for tho. the 15h2 can actually handle up to 2,500watts from what i've heard. some subs can handle more than actual rms, some aren't.
My system is sweet.
Cheap sony head unit and stock speakers. It rocks.
