Anyone got Flowmaster 40 series?
So...
i am bout to get me a new exhuast for the runner. My buddy just got a place near me to put straight pipes on his Dragster Tahoe (bored out the 350 small block 2x, Drag racing and reg. racing kinda chips, air intakes, exhuast, etc. etc. etc..... He's smoked GT mustangs and a c4 corvette w/ Procomp mud terrains and a 6" lift w/ all engine)
ANYWAYS...
i wana throw some 40 series mufflers on my 98 v-6 4runner. The dude at the muffler shop said $200 for 2 in 2 out, and i think it was like a little over 1 for 1 in 1 out (think i might get that b/c the folks don't totaly agree on exhuast, so stock look is a plus)
So does anyone here have flowmaster 40 series? Do they sound good? I looked for the muffler comparison thread w/ all the different mufflers, and COULD NOT FIND IT! link would be appreciated

Summit has the best prices for new flowmaster.... a 40 series will be LOUD LOUD LOUD!!! My buddy had a 50 series put on his 3.4 (95 taco) and all they had to do was cut the stock muffler out, factory piping was 2.5". A 40 series would be silly loud... He went to a quieter flowmaster when his original one wore out.. He is much happier.
I had a 50 series on my 95 runner it was too loud....I now have a 60 series on my P/U and its perfect, loud when on it, but quiet when cruising.

I almost bought the Super 40 based on this guys REVIEW but decided on the Delta 40 after hearing it in action and knowing it has a little less interior resonance.

There were two reasons I installed a Flowmaster, the first was to create a sound level appealing to me and second was the small package that is easily tucked into a tight place to avoid getting rock rash offroading.
BTW, I went to dynomax website, their muffler is a typical glasspack dating long before the 80's. Did you know they eventually wear out and get louder? I have yet to see a glasspack that didn"t......
