How can I tell if my 2000 Taco has ABS by looking? When I stop in the rain sometimes my rear wheels will skid but I'm not 100% sure I don't have ABS (granted I don't feel the typical 'grinding' in the pedal). Thanks!

 

1. abs indicator light when key turn ON
2. abs pump under the hood

btw, 2.7L dont come w/ it, i believe

 

i wish i could give you mine, i pulled the ABS fuse so it wouldn't work cuz i hated it so much. i actually attribute most of the blame for an accident last december to my ABS because it locked my brakes up and left me out of control on the ice where i slid for an insane distance until i was stopped by a ford tempo, all while the ABS was "working". i guess i'm an old skool driver that liked to be in control instead of the computer. i like the light on the dash being lit up now cuz i get to tell people that it's on cuz i have nice ABS, a really nice six pack

i havent gone out to look yet, its been raining like no other so ive been forced to sit inside. ill go take a look when it isnt raining. its acting like no abs though but i do remember seeing an ABS lights when i start up...

 

The dash lights are the most obvious. If you want to get wet, go look at your back axle and there will be ABS ports at the back of your hubs on the inside.
