Anyone ever do SAWS with a spacer?

So I'm waiting for UPS to bring my rebuild kits so I get can get to the used SAWS I bought from Jboy, and whilst surfing trying to figure out what to do with the rear (see probs in sig) I took a look at the Daystar spacers that wheelers off road was selling, and I thought, "I wonder if I could run a set of the 1" top out spacers with my saws thereby combining them for a lift similar/equal to cranking the SAWS up all the way, yet mainting some of the "droop" that cranking them up loses".

Yep, thats what i thought.

Anyway......Would this work? Does it make sense? Is it a stupid idea? I did a search of the forum and found it mentioned only once, as a passing suggestion made by Mad Chemist.

thanks for looking....

I believe RTDawgs and Schaefer ran the SAW/Revtek topout spacer combo (I'm sure there were others). They might be able to give you some info on the setup.

I bought them from Camburg engineering, I wouldn't be suprised if Demello offroad had them too. I hear something like ever 30,000 miles is recomended, probably depends on how hard they get used.

I paid about $50 shipped for kits (two shocks worth)

Finally saw this. Yes i ran a revtek top spacer on top of the SAWs, just got longer bolts.

However i cannot imagine using a 1" spacer, it would be too long to fit back in the thing i think.

How'd that work out for you? I believe it was the revtek spacer I was checking out on wheelersoffroad. If not 1", what size did you run, 1" was the only size I saw there, though i suppose I could check directly with revtek.

Thanks

Ditto on what RT said. I'm still running the Revtek top out spacer with my SAWS, though I think it was 3/8"- I think it was ~25 bucks from Revtek. It did seem to soften the suspension a little by allowing you to put less tension on the spring. I also got longer bolts from Lowes.

Ducky, you might be able to get away with just getting a fresh charge of Nitrogen as well, don't the SAWS hold ~200 PSI or something like that?

yes they are 3/8" but the 1 and 2 numbers are much closer together than the 3 and 8 keys so I am lazy.
