anyone else have a squeaky clutch?

the clutch on my tacoma is driving me crazy. for a long time, every time i pressed it in, there was a loud squeak coming from the linkage attached to the pedal. this was remedied with some wd-40, but now i can hear another squeak that is coming from somewhere inside the clutch 'components.' it is much louder outside the truck than inside but still annoying. i really have no idea what the problem is and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem and might have a remedy for it.

If you are talking about the pedal squeak problem, not the "cricket" problem:

I also had the same problem. I sprayed PAM cooking spray on the components and haven't had a problem since.

How many miles?? Original clutch?? Had this as well - turns out it was the throwout bearing that was bad. Search for clutch/squeak. You'll find a few threads on this topic.

I have a similar situation and it is not the plastic bushing (that sqeaks inside the truck)
I think it where the slave cylinder and the components that enter the clutch/bell housing is. I havn't fully narrowed it down yet (have to try the PAM thing).

it's the original clutch with about 80k on the truck. i did the PAM thing but used the WD. i was looking around under the dash and under the chassis and from what i could tell, it is somewhere inside the housing (could that be more vague?) thanks for the input and i'll check the thread link above

PAM it! I think WD40 evaporates.

Just an update:
I greased the slave cylinder a bit and also the components going into the bell housing and that took care of it.
.....But only for a few days! Maybe it is time to PAM it

I had the same problem, and the sound was definitely not coming from inside (not the bushing, yet...). It was the clutch release fork, which you can lube by pulling off the dust cover that is attached directly to the transmission bellhousing. The cover is a black rubber accordion-looking piece - l just pulled it off and sprayed some Tri-Flo lubricant in the hole. Problem fixed!
